Facilities and Equipment

  • C02 Laser - Foot Surgery
    Plantar Warts
Can usually be vaporized with only one treatment under local anesthesia. Since the laser cauterizes small blood vessels, there is less bleeding than with traditional surgical techniques as less swelling and pain. Also, as it vaporizes, it sterilizes the wound site.
  • Ingrown Toe Nail
Surgical correction of ingrown toenails can be performed by vaporizing the matrix of the offending nail plate border(s).
  • Porokeratosis (IPK'S)
These well deep nucleated corns usually on the plantar aspect of the foot also respond well to laser treatment unless there is an underlying bony or biomechanical imbalance; in which case the biomechanics of the foot have to be addressed.
  • Onychomycosis (Fungus Infected Nails)
In a severe nail condition, he nail plate would be removed and the mycotic nail bed vaporizes with the laser followed by topical and oral antifungal therapy.
  • Myths Regarding Lasers
Lasers do not vaporize bone, since bone does not have the water content of soft tissue, lasers cannot be used to surgically correct bony deformities like bunions or hammertoes.
The laser is an excellent tool in treating some common foot conditions; one that can be advantageous us to both patient and physician.
  • Diagnostic Ultrasound
Ultrasound produces superior images providing detailed pictures of foreign bodies, stress injuries, Tendonitis, Plantar Fascitis, Neuromas, and others.
  • Shockwave Therapy
In podiatric disorders, shockwave therapy stimulates and reactivates healing to encourage normal tissue healing. Additionally, shockwaves help to over-stimulate pain transmission nerves, which can lead to a reduction in sensitivity and pain.
